Tonight my friends and I went to Dueling Pianos at the Village Pourhouse. I had never been to a dueling pianos before and it was so much fun! The two guys played a lot of fun classic rock songs (Queen, Elton, Billy Joel, Bruce, etc.) but also indulged some of our more unique requests, like Snoop Dogg’s “Gin & Juice.” They also (begrudgingly) played my Backstreet Boys request for “I Want It That Way” which, to their surprise, was a hit with the crowd haha. They even threw in some Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me” and “Call Me Maybe” in the mix.
But the best part of the night was when Vince participated in a “so you think you can dance” dance-off where they played popular dance songs and contestants had to do the right moves. We assured him that he could just follow our dance moves if he didn’t know what to do. He was really into it! They played songs like YMCA (that’s him in the middle of “Y”), ” The Twist”, “The Chicken Dance”, which he did fine on his own, followed by “Greased Lightning,” “The Macarena”, and “Baby Got Back,” which we helped him out a bit on…for baby got back I was enthusiastically pointing to my butt and screaming “get low!!” haha. And guess what? He won!! And got a free shot for it, continuing his freakish streak of somehow getting free shots at bars.
I seriously love pianos bars and happily returned home with a hoarse throat from singing along so loudly.
